| Prior to joining the state in 2018, Rebecca worked in county government for 9 years as the commission executive secretary then eventually the economic development director. Recruited by the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity as the rural economic development outreach manager, she also coordinated the state’s broadband efforts. Appointed director full-time of the Utah Broadband Center in 2021, she launched the state’s first broadband infrastructure grant program. Today the office of one is now a seven-person team managing nearly $340M in federal broadband infrastructure and digital access funds to ensure every Utahn has access to high-speed internet. |
